Brechin City vs Airdrie United preview - Brechin have record in sight

Brechin look set to be without Alan Trouten when they bid to equal a club record of 17 league games unbeaten against visitors Airdrie.

Trouten is struggling with a groin injury, but Gerry McLauchlan, Paul McLean and Darren McCormack, who all picked up knocks in the midweek draw with Dunfermline, are expected to be fit.

Manager Ray McKinnon said: "The players battled back to get a point on Tuesday, which ensured that Dunfermline did not close the gap we have on them.

"We will need those battling qualities again to see off a good Airdrie side, who are on a decent run of their own."

Airdrie miss only back-up goalkeeper Rohan Ferguson, who suffered an injury to his face recently, as they look to be the side to end Brechin's fine run.

Manager Gary Bollan said: "I have watched Brechin twice in recent weeks and they are a very good side.

"They have confidence in their ranks but so have we, as we are on a decent run ourselves and I thought our 4-1 win over Stirling last weekend was an excellent performance.

"If we can win this game then it would send out a marker in terms of our involvement in the top half of the table."
