Oxford could be boosted by the return of James Roberts for the visit of Shrewsbury.
The striker has been sidelined since picking up a hamstring injury against AFC Wimbledon a month ago and having returned to full training he is ready to boost Michael Appleton's attacking options.
Fellow forward Will Hoskins is looking at a January return from his long-term groin injury and is unlikely to be involved once more.
John Campbell will hope to keep his place having made his first U's start in the 1-1 draw with Hartlepool.
Andy Mangan is pushing to start for Shrewsbury after his late winner downed Morecambe 1-0 at the weekend.
The striker has scored nine goals in nine starts for Town this season after linking up with Micky Mellon, who managed him at Fleetwood.
Jayson Leutwiler has fully recovered from a hip problem after returning in the victory over the Shrimps.
Defender Jermaine Grandison was left out of the squad at the weekend after suffering from illness but is now available for selection.
