RAPIST footballer Ched Evans was in hiding with his girlfriend last night after they were hit with death threats following his jail release.

And a sex victims’ charity blasted the prison service for giving the Wales striker “VIP treatment”, helping to smuggle him out of jail at 5am to dodge media crews.
Staff at Wymott Prison, Lancs, appear to have liaised with Evans’s friends to usher him straight into a blacked-out 4x4 Mercedes at the gates.
The 25-year-old was seen climbing into the passenger seat before heading off for a reunion with girlfriend Natasha Massey, 26, the daughter of a millionaire jeweller, after serving half of his five-year sentence.
According to his website, Evans will make a “personal statement” next week.
It added he was determined to overturn his 2012 conviction for the rape of a 19-year-old girl in Rhyl, north Wales.
Yesterday Evans’s mum Helen Roberts, from Rhyl, stunned tweeters with a bizarre message that appeared to refer to her son’s conception.
Her retweet from thefactguide read: “Whenever you’re feeling down, remember, you’re the sperm that won.”
Social networking sites contained a stream of threats directed at ex-Sheffield United star Evans and his girlfriend.
One woman tweeted: “Rapists with ‘supporters’ – how vile. Die Ched Evans.’’ Another messaged: “Wishing many forms of hideous death on Ched Evans and his apologists.’’
Katie Russell, from Rape Crisis England And Wales, slammed the way Evans was allowed to leave jail.
She said: “In terms of the VIP treatment from prison, we cannot explain it. It makes no sense. Would they have done that to a binman who was being released from a jail sentence for rape? I doubt it.”
Last night nearly 150,000 people had signed an online petition urging United not to re-sign Evans.
