AFTER a series of tears, tantrums and sex, Wayne Rooney's former lover Helen Wood has beaten Ashleigh Coyle to be crowned the shock winner of Big Brother 2014.
SHOCK WINNER: Helen Wood was the surprise winner of Big Brother
The loud-mouth mum-of-one triumphed over her fierce rival to bag the £100,000 prize pot and become the show’s most controversial champ ever.
She was flabbergasted when host Emma Willis announced she had won the 15th series of the reality show, and was congratulated by Ashleigh despite their bitter rows which dominated the series.
However, Helen was greeted by a heavy chorus of boos as she walked out of the telly house, as fans begun a backlash against the show.
Chants of ‘Ashleigh’ could be heard throughout Helen’s interview, as they backed the former bookies’ favourite.
CONTROVERSIAL CHAMPION: Helen caused many arguments during her time in the house
Helen's win also caused outrage on Twitter, as hundreds of BB fans blasted the public for voting for her.
"Disgusted with Britain letting Helen win! Since when do we praise bullying and vile behaviour?" one raged.
"I AM SO ANGRY THAT HELEN HAS WON @bbuk ITS SO UNFAIR. SHE HAS BEEN SO NASTY," another tweeted.
"Fuming that helen won bb, being nasty should get you nowhere!!!" wrote another.
"After the incredible season last summer it is disgraceful to have a winner like Helen follow Sam. This season wasted my time and killed me," another said.
FORMER RIVALS: Ashleigh hugged Helen after her win
During her interview, a visably shocked Helen admitted she believed she thought Ashleigh had won the show.
"I'm waiting for someone to say it's a lie. I'm shocked, Ashleigh was the winner,” she told Emma.
Discussing her aggressive behaviour, she admitted she was ashamed at some of the things she’d said and done in the house.
"I'm completely over the top, I'm out of order on occasions. I can be aggressive as well but when I've been wound up that many times,” she said.
"I had to change, I knew living with people I couldn't behave like that.”
Of Ashleigh, she added: “We're both strong characters, but we both deal with things differently.”
RUNNER UP: Ashleigh Coyle was the favourite to win the show
While Ashleigh and Helen were far from friends for most of their time in the house, the teen also heaped nothing but praise on Helen during her exit interview, saying she was “over the moon” for her.
Explaining their complicated relationship, Ashleigh said: “I think our differences were so big that they stood out before we realised how many similarities we had.
"The few things that would make us clash were very similar."
She added: “I'm over the moon for her, I'm really glad we sorted that out a few nights ago. I know me and Helen would get on fine in the outside world.”
Earlier in the evening, Pav Paul and Chris Wright becoming the first housemates to leave, after finishing in sixth and fifth place respectively.
FIRST OUT: Pav and Chris finished in sixth and fifth place
They were booted out together and forced to share their exit interview, where Pav admitted he was “surprised” to make it to the final after entering the show halfway through.
Chris also tried to explain his complicated relationship with Helen, joking: “The thing is with Helen, you can’t live with her…”
"I really do genuinely love her, it drove me nuts that she kept undoing everything,” he added.
Meanwhile, Ash Harrison left the house in fourth place, and soon downplayed his relationship with Helen during his chat with Emma.
FOURTH PLACE: Ash got a great reception from the crowd
"She's a good pal of mine. She's just an awesome girl, up for a laugh all the time,” he said.
"No I don't fancy her, she's just a really good mate. We just ended up kissing a couple of times.”
Third place Christopher Hall also described the house as "tense", and said he often found it difficult to speak up during the rows which constantly rocked the house.
THIRD PLACE: Christopher was all smiles as he left the house
Chatting about his romance with evicted housemate Mark Byron, he told Emma: “He's one of a kind.
"It is what it is with me and Mark. I'd rather have him as a mate in my life if we're just going to fight.
"He's still awesome, I'll see him afterwards.”
But while the Big Brother house is now empty, it won’t stay that way for too long, as a fresh batch of celebrities will be sashaying their way into the Borehamwood bungalow on Monday.
