WAYNE Rooney loves new boss Louis van Gaal so much he is trying to copy his hairdo, fans have claimed.
ROON-ALIKES: Louis Van Gaal and Wayne Rooney could be hair buddies
The once balding Manchester United ace has shelled out thousands on two hair transplants and uses pricey potions to help thicken his thatch.
But now his mane is growing so well he has been able to fashion a quiff, just like van Gaal, 63.
And Red Devils fans were quick to point out the 28-year-old England star’s new style.
But they also thought the striker may need to shell out for yet another transplant before he is able to go the whole hog.
On Twitter Erikthered wrote: “Rooney looks like he’s growing a quiff like the boss.
"Another transplant is needed to finish the look.”
While some felt an extra layer of hairspray was needed to complete the job. On a United fans’ forum Summeroflove wrote: "Wazza seems to be growing his hair to look like LVG.
"More hairspray definitely needed.”
Another Old Trafford supporter added: “Rooney’s hair, lol. Talk about LVG mini-me.”
Rooney has been quick to heap praise on his new boss after he made him captain in United’s pre-season games.
And copying the Dutchman’s hairdo could be the perfect way to ensure he keeps the armband for the start of this season.
The £300,000-a-week star had his first transplant in 2011 and posted a picture of his new-found hairline on Twitter.
And a year ago he underwent a nine-hour operation at London’s Harley Street Hair Clinic for his second.
Both ops were part of the £15,000 package he bought to arrest his early baldness.
