Arsenal alerted as Sam Allardyce admits no new deal for Mohamed Diame at West Ham
Mohamed Diame has been a huge hit at West Ham since joining in the summer

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has admitted the club have yet to agree a new deal with midfielder Mohamed Diame, fuelling speculation he could be off the London rivals Arsenal before the end of the transfer window.

Diame joined the Hammers last summer and has proved a big hit in east London, but his performances have attracted unwanted attention from across the capital.

The 25-year-old currently has a buy-out clause in his contract, which West Ham bosses are keen to eradicate in order to keep him at Upton Park or demand a higher transfer fee than the £3.5m Arsenal are reportedly looking to offer.

But Allardyce admits negotiations have yet to produce a positive outcome.

‘The owners have tried to renegotiate the contract, but they haven’t been successful at the moment.’

Tottenham are also thought to be pondering a move for the former Wigan man, following the news Brazilian midfielder Sandro will be out of action for the rest of the season.

Nicolas Anelka is not on the radar of Hammers boss Sam Allardyce

Meanwhile, Hammers boss Allardyce has also insisted he is not about to move for Shanghai Shenhua striker Nicolas Anelka, with the former Chelsea man reportedly keen on a move back to England.

‘At the moment I am not in a position for Nicolas Anelka because my main priority is defenders,’ said Allardyce.

‘We have got Andy (Carroll) close to coming back and we have got Carlton Cole, (Marouane) Chamakh and we have also brought in Wellington.’
