Bruno Fernandes provided the assist for Manchester United's opening goal as they beat Manchester City 2-0.
Bruno Fernandes has already endeared himself to the Manchester United fans since his arrival in January with his scintillating performances but he may have upgraded to cult hero after one gesture to Pep Guardiola during the Manchester derby on Sunday. Fernandes produced another piece of magic during the first half of the derby with a delicate chip from a free-kick through to Anthony Martial, with the forward finishing past Ederson for the first goal of the game.
City were throwing everything at United for the remainder of the game to try and find a way through but they came up against a resolute defence.
The attacking players of Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez and many more couldn’t find a breakthrough with frustrations clearly boiling over.
United remained resolute with Fernandes continuing to dominate in midfield and it’s clear Guardiola was not happy on the touchline.
And the City boss was involved in a brief exchange with Fernandes on 84 minutes as the United midfielder walked past the touchline.

Guardiola appeared to be talking in the direction of the Portugal international with Fernandes seemingly listening to what was being said.
Then the 25-year-old was spotted bringing his finger on his lips, as if to shush the City boss.
Fernandes was subbed off soon after to a standing ovation from the Old Trafford faithful.
And there was time for one more goal in stoppage time when Ederson was punished for a weak kick out with Scott McTominay expertly finishing from long-range.

The goal marked McTominay’s first since his return from injury and the Scotland international admits it felt extra special being against United’s arch rivals.
"That was such a sweet moment. Credit to the boys. Sticky first 20 minutes and we had to keep going,” he said.
"We will take confidence from that but in the coming weeks we have got to keep the run going.
"It's such a beautiful feeling to score like that in front of the fans. But we can’t get too carried away and need to keep pushing for the Champions League."

The win keeps United in the hunt for a top-four finish after Chelsea beat Everton 4-0 earlier in the day.
The gap to Chelsea stays at three points but the win over City puts United back up to fifth with several teams in and around them.
One team hoping to close that gap to United is Tottenham, who can move to within one of Solskjaer’s side when the two teams face off next weekend.
