Messi's annoyance with Barcelona

Lionel Messi became the first footballer to win a Laureus Award on Monday evening, sharing the crown with Lewis Hamilton as the best individual athlete.
The prize is just the latest in a long list for the Argentinian, following six Ballon d'Ors, several Golden Boots, a number of Pichichis and many more.
Barcelona's captain keeps getting recognition for his brilliance, but 2019/20 hasn't been a peaceful season for him so far.
The troubles he's had to endure this year go beyond the Catalans' on-field struggles though, and have largely been caused by the mess higher up at the club.
Messi wasn't happy with Ernesto Valverde's sacking, nor was he pleased with Eric Abidal's comments afterwards, and he didn't sit back biting his tongue.
Now he's on the end of more unwanted attention. The player and his family have been maligned by accounts allegedly used by Barcelona to control what is said about the club publicly.
