Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany was left fuming when a firecracker was thrown on the pitch by Anderlecht fans, nearly hitting Simon Mignolet.
The Belgian is back at the club he grew up with as player-manager, having spent 11 years with the Premier League champions.
But his return has not been sweet, with Anderlecht sitting mid-table in the Belgian Pro League.
Kompany’s team made it one win in their last seven league games with a 2-1 loss to Club Brugge.
And footage has emerged of the 33-year-old having to deal with a frightening situation.
In the clip, there are only a couple of minutes left of the game at Lotto Park.
Mignolet is preparing to take a goal kick when a firecracker drops onto the pitch.
The smoke is billowing towards him before it suddenly pops.
And the shot-stopper is in shock as he walks away from the debris.
But Kompany comes storming towards it, yelling at the supporters.

And player-manager Kompany took matters into his own hands
He brought the experience of winning four Premier League titles and a first-ever domestic treble with City.
The Belgian made 360 appearances in blue, scoring a stunning goal on his last appearance at the Etihad Stadium last May against Leicester.
And the 33-year-old has left a big hole in Pep Guardiola’s side, who sit 16 points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool.
But they are reportedly prepared to poach Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United’s grasp by matching Sporting Lisbon’s valuation.
