Liverpool fans were left baffled as Roberto Firmino was baptised in his own swimming pool by goalkeeper Alisson.
The Brazilian is in fine form this season, with nine goals and nine assists for the Reds.
And he was the hero in their 1-0 win over Tottenham last week, keeping Jurgen Klopp’s side 14 points clear at the top of the Premier League.
He is behind fellow forwards Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, though, who are on 14 and 15 goals each.
Footage has emerged, though, of Firmino looking for inspiration from God by getting baptised.
In the clip, the Brazilian has his family gathered at home.
Team-mates including Fabinho are down at the 28-year-old’s swimming pool.
A pastor waits in the water along with Reds shot-stopper and international team-mate Alisson.
Everyone wears black T-shirts with symbols of the cross and love hearts.
Firmino makes his way into the pool before starting the ceremony.

“Jesus is love,” he says.
“There is no explanation. Just believe him.
“Just believe and feel the holy spirit.”
Firmino is then put in the water backwards by the pastor and Alisson while wife Larissa Pereira watches on.
She is in floods of tears when the forward resurfaces.
The Brazilian was dipped in by team-mate Alisson before sharing an emotional moment with with Larissa Pereira
And his team-mate becomes visibly emotional as the Brazilian embraces his partner.
This footage was shared on Firmino’s Instagram channel last night, where it has been viewed more than two million times.
It was soon re-published on Reddit, where the Anfield faithful made a cheeky joke.
“No-look baptism – only my No.9,” one supporter said.
This refers to Firmino’s skill of scoring a goal without looking at the net, most notably against Arsenal in December 2018.
Another commented: “Ah, the no-look baptism.”
While a third wrote: “Bobby finds the no-look hope.”
With a fourth simply writing: “Awesome.”
It comes as Alisson explained the value of Firmino to the Reds earlier this week.
Klopp’s side are back in action this Sunday as they take on rivals Manchester United at Anfield.
