Rotherham to check on defender Maddock for Posh visit

Rotherham have an injury doubt over defender Joe Mattock for the visit of Peterborough in Sunday’s clash between fourth and fifth in Sky Bet League One.
Mattock opened the scoring in the Millers’ thrilling 2-1 win at Shrewsbury on Boxing Day with his first goal of the season but was forced off before the end with a re-occurring back injury and will be assessed closer to kick-off.
However, Rotherham boss Paul Warne is once more hoping to pick a strong side after being able to call on the services of a number of his first-team regulars against Shrewsbury following injury and illness, including the central-defensive partnership of Clark Robertson and Michael Ihiekwe.
While the Millers go into Saturday’s game on a high, Posh are reeling from a 3-0 thrashing by Doncaster, a first home defeat in any competition since the opening day of the season.
Manager Darren Ferguson, who took the defeat on the chin, will have the services of George Boyd and Frazer Blake-Tracy after both returned from injury as as second-half substitutes against Doncaster.
Captain Mark Beevers, who missed that game with a calf injury, is a doubt for the trip to New York Stadium but midfielder Serhat Tasdemir could return after sitting out the Boxing Day game with a minor hip injury.
