Injured Jonathan Leko returns to parent club West Brom from Charlton loan spell

Charlton loanee Jonathan Leko misses the opportunity to take on his former team Bristol City on Boxing Day.

Leko, who played 11 games on loan with the Robins during the 2017-18 season, has returned to parent club West Brom after damaging his knee in the weekend draw at QPR.

Jonny Williams, Sam Field, Tomer Hemed, Chuks Aneke, Jake Forster-Caskey, Josh Cullen, Beryam Kayal, George Lapslie, Lewis Page and Ben Amos remain on a lengthy Addicks injury list.

Ben Purrington’s place is in doubt after the left-back was withdrawn inside the opening half-hour at QPR, with boss Lee Bowyer saying the summer signing from Rotherham “looked nervous”.

Former Addick Jay DaSilva is closing in on a first-team return for Bristol City.

DaSilva suffered a fractured tibia on the opening weekend of the season and could be available over the festive programme.

Tomas Kalas emerged unscathed after tendinitis trouble in Sunday’s 1-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday, but Robins boss Lee Johnson could rotate after three successive defeats.

Adam Nagy, Niclas Eliasson and Kasey Palmer are all set to come into the reckoning for starting spots.
