Lionel Messi was at his best in Barcelona training, putting his own team-mates on the floor the day after winning the Ballon d’Or.

The Argentine won the award for the sixth time in his career earlier this week.

It comes the season after the Barca captain led the club to successive La Liga titles.

Messi scored 51 goals in 50 appearances for the Spanish club.

And footage has emerged which shows the 32-year-old is not letting up anytime soon.

In the clip, the forward has joined his Barca team-mates in training.

They are playing a small game between themselves, with Messi in the team wearing yellow bibs.

The Argentine picks up the ball in the middle of the pitch – but decides to go for goal.

And his effort glides across the turd into the bottom-left corner.

His second effort sees the 32-year-old pick up the ball from goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter-Stegen.

Messi is faced with a defender, who he sends sliding to the left with a dummy.

When the Barca player tries to stop his captain again, the forward manages to flick the ball back and across with his left foot.

This creates space for the Ballon d’Or winner to slot into the bottom-right corner, with the goalkeeper planted to the ground.

The Nou Camp hero goes on to score two more goals, striking from distance before chipping the goalkeeper.

This footage was shared on Barcelona’s official Twitter channel, where it has been viewed thousands of times.

And Messi fans were blown away by the Barca star’s skills.

“That was disgusting,” one supporter said.

Another commented: “Absolute stroll around.”

While a third added to Messi’s Ballon D’Or win.

“Best player of all time,” they said.

And a fourth simply added: “Effortless.”

On the night itself, Messi voted for Liverpool star Sadio Mane and has now explained why he did it.
