Dobbie double downs Dundee United

Stephen Dobbie scored twice and Kevin Holt and Michael Paton were also on target as Queen of the South won 4-0 at home to Ladbrokes Championship leaders Dundee United.
The home side took the lead after 18 minutes when Darren Brownlie headed a free-kick back across goal and Dobbie nodded in from close range.
Queen of the South nearly doubled their lead after 24 minutes as Holt’s shot came back off the frame of the goal but four minutes later the left-back made no mistake when he headed in from a Faissal El Bakhtaoui corner.
Just after the half hour the visitors’ Louis Appere was in on goal but saw his effort blocked by the home keeper.
United were denied a penalty claim for handball early in the second half before Appere fired wide when well placed.
But the home side made them pay for missed chances when Dobbie netted his second after 70 minutes with a low shot after swapping passes with El Bakhtaoui before Paton got the home side’s fourth goal seven minutes later with a tap-in.
