Stevenage finally claim first League Two win of season against Grimsby

Stevenage resisted a late comeback to record their first Sky Bet League Two win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Grimsby.
The hosts, who had failed to win any of their opening 12 games, started brightly and drew first blood after 16 minutes.
Luther James-Wildin found Kurtis Guthrie in the area with a driven cross, whose clever backheel flick beat visiting goalkeeper James McKeown at the far post.
The home side doubled their lead shortly before the break when Charlie Carter swept home after 43 minutes, thanks to clever combination play between Guthrie and James-Wildin.
Both sides fashioned good scoring opportunities in the second half, but Elliott Whitehouse missed a gilt-edged chance for the Mariners when he hooked his effort over the crossbar.
Grimsby eventually pulled one back when substitute Ahkeem Rose blasted home from a counter-attack in the 79th minute, setting up a dramatic finish.
And after Rose guided an overhead kick wide of the target, Stevenage held on through five minutes of added time to claim their first three points of the campaign.
