Bradford edge victory as Morecambe drop to bottom of League Two

Two second-half goals handed Bradford a hard-earned 2-1 victory against a Morecambe side who slumped to the bottom of Sky Bet League Two.
After an even first half Bradford took the lead two minutes after the break through Hope Akpan after a swift counter attack.
Adam Buxton lost possession on the edge of the Bantams area and Dylan Connolly took full advantage with a run deep into the Morecambe half and crossed for Akpan to slide the ball past John O’Sullivan on the Morecambe line.
The visitors added a second against the run of play 11 minutes from time when they took advantage of a poor defensive header from Steven Old as Harry Pritchard fed Aramide Oteh down the left and he squeezed the ball into the bottom left-hand corner of Barry Roche’s goal.
The home side then dominated play with Kevin Ellison heading against the crossbar and Bradford clearing an effort off the line before Aaron Wildig and Ellison both shot tamely at Richard O’Donnell when they could have done better.
Morecambe scored a deserved consolation three minutes into injury time when Tom Brewitt smashed home a loose ball from close range but it was too little too late as Bradford moved third in the table.
