Nathan Broadhead faces late test for Burton
Posted Monday, August 26, 2019 by PA
Burton will check on Nathan Broadhead ahead of Morecambe’s visit in the Carabao Cup.
The forward, on loan from Everton, missed the goalless draw at Shrewsbury on Saturday with a hip injury.
Albion boss Nigel Clough has vowed to field a strong side and there could be recalls for the likes of Reece Hutchinson, Joe Sbarra and Liam Boyce.
Burton reached the semi-finals of the competition last season, losing to eventual winners Manchester City.
Morecambe will be without Sam Lavelle for the second round tie at the Pirelli Stadium.
The defender was sent off late on in the home defeat to Exeter at the weekend and must serve a one-match ban.
Shrimps boss Jim Bentley is expected to make some changes and Mark Halstead could replace Barry Roche in goal, while Luke Conlan is available again after a three-match suspension.
Alex Kenyon has been out with an ankle injury recently and the midfielder may miss out again.
