Fylde drop points against Dagenham & Redbridge

Promotion-chasing AFC Fylde had to come from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against lowly Dagenham & Redbridge.

Dagenham went ahead in the 18th minute when Matt Robinson’s header deflected through to Colombian forward Angelo Balanta, who scored from close range as the Fylde players appealed for offside.

The Coasters got themselves back on level terms five minutes before half-time. Winger Nick Haughton was brought down just outside the penalty area and top scorer Danny Rowe dispatched the resulting free-kick into the bottom corner.

Rowe sent an acrobatic 20-yard volley flying just wide on the hour and Dan Bradley then saw his powerful shot saved.

The home side had captain Neill Byrne sent off in the final minute for a second caution after colliding with Daggers substitute Harry Phipps.
