Brechin climb out of drop zone with win over Stranraer

Brechin scored twice in the closing minutes to lift themselves out of the Scottish League One relegation zone with a 2-0 win at fellow strugglers Stranraer.
The home side saw Kyle Turner send an early shot wide from 25 yards before Alistair McCann fired over.
At the other end Ross Kavanagh’s effort was saved by Lyle Avci and Dougie Hill’s header was chalked off for offside just before half-time.
As the hour mark passed, Avci made another smart stop from Andy Jackson following a free-kick while Stranraer forward Innes Cameron fired over.
Just when it looked like both sides would have to settle for a point, Jackson broke the deadlock with a minute left from close range and midfielder Craig Thomson headed in a second during stoppage time.
