Dundee United stay in touch with leaders

Dundee United moved just two points behind Scottish Championship leaders Ross County by claiming a 1-0 win at Dunfermline.
Midfielder Peter Pawlett’s outstanding first-half goal, which saw him finish after beating a number of Dunfermline defenders, proved enough for Robbie Neilson’s men.
Pavol Safranko almost added a second for the visitors, but his header hit the bar.
The win took United to within striking distance of Ross County, and 10 points clear of third-placed Inverness, as the title battle between the leading pair hots up – though County have two games in hand.
