Ladbrokes League Two leaders Peterhead were beaten 2-0 at second-bottom Berwick.
Lewis Barr put the Borderers ahead in the 13th minute after a clearance ricocheted off him and into the net and Cameron Blues added another scrappy goal on the half-hour.
Callum Home hit the crossbar for Peterhead after the break as they missed out on the chance to move eight points clear at the summit.
Clyde closed the gap on second-placed Edinburgh City with a 2-0 win over Annan.
Jack Boyle fired through Kyle Gourlay’s legs after 14 minutes to reward a strong start.
The hosts had further chances to put the game to bed, but David Goodwillie missed the best of them, striking the post in the second half.
Eventually, Scott Rumsby was awarded a goal as he glanced home from a corner after the break, though it appeared to come off an Elgin defender last.
