Barnet still in battle to beat the drop after Rodney leveller

Barnet’s battle to beat relegation from the National League continues as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Halifax at the Hive Stadium.
The Shaymen appeared the side more likely to score early on, with Matty Brown going close when he headed just wide from a corner.
But it was Darren Currie’s men who led midway through the first half when Wes Fonguck capitalised on a penetrating ball into the box by Ephron Mason-Clark to poke home into the top corner from close range.
In the second half, Dan Sweeney came within inches of making it 2-0, hitting the post from Cheye Alexander’s cross.
It proved to be a vital miss as in the 72nd minute Halifax substitute Cameron King released Devante Rodney to sidefoot in the leveller and leave the Bees three points above the relegation zone.
