Rodgers backs away from Morelos

Brendan Rodgers insists Leicester are not going to sign Alfredo Morelos in the summer.

"I think someone is trying to wind someone up,” he said.

"I never will comment on speculation of any player. My focus is on the group we have now, whether we can focus and get better as a group and then with the summer, we will look to strengthen and improve then.

"We understand where the team needs improving and we’ll look at the squad over the remainder of the season to see. Every year we want to improve and that’s something we’ll look at in the summer.”

Mourinho proud of Real Madrid call

Jose Mourinho says he is “proud” Real Madrid fans want him back at the club.

Mourinho is out of work and has been linked with a sensational move back to the Bernabeu.

"The chants? I am proud, but Real Madrid have a Coach,” Mourinho told El Chiringuito.

"Obviously I am proud, when you hear your name in that context, but there is nothing more than that because there has been nothing, not even the minimum contact.

"I have not spoken to anyone and there a lot of rumours, but we all know that rumours in football are not good and they are not strong.”

Gerrard delivers Morelos update

Steven Gerrard has delivered an update on Alfredo Morelos’ future after he was linked with Leicester.

He said: "I’m sure it’s flattering for him. It’s a big compliment for him and it shows he’s on terrific form.

"He’s in a great place. In terms of me nothing changes. We’re working with the player. He puts a smile on my face when I get out of bed and go all the way to training to work with him because he’s a top player.

"The interest and speculation won’t go away and that’s something we have to live with. But I’d be more concerned or worried if no one was interested in my players."

Manchester United need five signings

Manchester United need to make five summer signings to compete for the Premier League title - according to Gary Neville.

United overcame PSG in the Champions League last night despite being two down from the home leg.

And despite being impressed with the players that came in with the list of injuries and suspensions, Neville thinks the squad needs serious investment.

He told beIN Sports: “Manchester United need two centre-backs. I genuinely believe that.

"When you talk about United winning the Premier League title or trying to get to a Champions League final, you need top centre backs.

"They need two new centre backs and a right back. That’s a minimum I think for the summer. They’ve looked at doing that in the past and they need to do it this year.

"The manager needs a new back four, there’s no doubt.

"They need someone with authority. You watch Virgil van Dijk or Thiago Silva, they’re world-class centre backs and

United need someone like that.

"I would say three defenders, one midfielder and one forward, because of the form of Alexis Sanchez.

"Unless he completely changes what he’s doing in the next few months, United need another forward.

"I’d say they need five additions to the squad. Then the squad would be in good shape and could challenge.”
