Solihull up to second as they end Gateshead’s unbeaten run

Solihull Moors moved up to second in the National League as Nathan Blissett scored the only goal of the game against 10-man Gateshead at Damson Park.
Initially things looked bright for the visitors, who came into the game on the back of a seven-game unbeaten run.
Ryan Boot in the home goal reacted superbly to keep the scores level when Greg Olley’s shot deflected off Liam Daly.
There was more frustration for Gateshead five minutes before the interval when Mike Williamson was sent-off following an off-the-ball altercation with Danny Wright.
The Moors made the most of their man advantage and Nathan Blissett headed in Darren Carter’s corner after 62 minutes.
Instead of pushing on for more, Tim Flowers’ men were content to usher in the three points with caution.
