Andreas Pereira confirms Santos talks
Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira has confirmed that he held talks with Brazilian club Santos during the January transfer window.
Pereira, 23, appeared surplus to requirements under Jose Mourinho but has featured in four fixtures since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer arrived.
"I'm always following [Santos]. I'm a really sick Santista," he told Esporte Interativo. "There was this speculation that I was going to Santos. I talked to the president, but unfortunately it was not possible.
"I also think that I have to finish a more established career here in Europe. So later, of course, it's a dream to play in Santos. I told [Santos's president], he understood, he was very nice to me.”

The new Cristiano Ronaldo…
Manchester United and Real Madrid are keen to sign Benfica attacker Joao Felix, according to reports.
ESPN claim the two European giants are monitoring his progress and that other clubs including Juventus, Barcelona and AC Milan are all tracking the 19-year-old.
Felix only made his senior debut last August but six goals in 12 Primeira Liga appearances this season has seen him labelled the new Cristiano Ronaldo.
Any team who want to sign him will have to dig deep, though, as he has a release clause of £105million in his contract that runs until June 2023.

Ivan Perisic transfer talks
Arsenal told Ivan Perisic they “would do everything” to bring him to north London during the January transfer window.
That is according to Arsenal insider David Ornstein.
"With a week to go in the window, Arsenal made their approach to the representatives of Perisic and then, subsequently, Inter Milan,” the journalist told the Arseblog podcast.
"Although they seemingly were calm at this point about the possibility of signing one player, two players or no players, my understanding is they went extremely hard for Perisic.
"And you don’t get a player who hands in a transfer request and stops training and risks his relationship with a club the size of Inter Milan because he doesn’t think he’s coming.
"He definitely thought he would be coming to Arsenal and a deal would be done there.
"Arsenal were in direct contact with Perisic and communicating they would do everything to make the deal happen.”

Frenkie de Jong pledge
Frenkie de Jong wants to retire at Barcelona.
Barcelona signed de Jong, 21, for an initial £65million in January from Ajax despite strong interest from PSG.
"Paris Saint-Germain was a good option, but Barcelona has always been a dream,” the Dutch midfielder told Het Kontakt.
"I am happy with my five-year contract, and if I succeed, the chances are that I will never leave, just like Lionel Messi."
Life without Leo…
Barcelona are preparing for life without superstar Lionel Messi.
That’s according to the club’s president Josep Maria Bartomeu, who says the Catalan giants have geared their transfer activity towards coping without the Argentine.
"I know one day Lionel will say he's retiring," Bartomeu told Guillem Balague on BBC Radio Five Live's Football Daily Podcast.
"We have to prepare the club for the future. We are bringing great young players to the team because we need to continue this era of success. That's our responsibility.”

Manchester United eye Serie A trio
Manchester United are looking to Italy for summer additions.
That’s according to Manchester Evening News, who claim THREE Serie A defenders on their transfer shortlist.
It’s said Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, who would likely cost upwards of £100million, is still being monitored.
Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar and the lesser known Joachim Andersen of Sampdoria are also of interest with the former valued at £76million.
Ole deserves it
Claudio Ranieri believes Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer "deserves" to be appointed Manchester United's permanent manager.
"At the moment he deserves it. He's shown all the players are with him.
"Manchester United's mentality has changed. Why not?
"I remember him as a player, against Chelsea. He was a fantastic player. His career's open, and I wish him all the best."

N'Golo Kante swoop
PSG will re-ignite their interest in Chelsea star N’Golo Kante in the summer, according to reports in France.
The French giants have been keen to sign the midfielder for some time and Le10 Sport claim they will test Chelsea’s resolve with man offer at the end of the season.
More worryingly for Blues fans, the reports claims Kante’s relationship with manager Maurizio Sarri is strained and that he would consider a move back to his homeland.
The 27-year-old has been forced to play out of position this term as Sarri bought Jorginho in the summer and had to shuffle the midfield to accommodate him.

Wanted: Emile Smith Rowe
RB Leipzig are clearly enamoured with loan signing Emile Smith-Rowe.
The Bundesliga outfit are looking to extend his loan deal beyond this season… despite the fact he’s not made his debut!
Smith-Rowe, 18, joined RB Leipzig in January on a five-month loan deal but hasn’t pulled on the shirt due to injury.
But that hasn’t stopped manager Ralph Rangnick talking about their great relationship with Arsenal and future talks to extend his stay into the 2019/20 campaign.
"We have such a good relationship with Arsenal that we can imagine talking to them about another loan in March or April,” Rangnick said.
