Braintree unlucky against Halifax
Posted Sunday, January 06, 2019 by PA
Rock-bottom Braintree were unlucky not to gain a morale-boosting away win, and had to settle for a 0-0 draw at Halifax.
The Iron tried to take the initiative to end their poor run of form, just one win in 10 before the match. Justin Amaluzor and Courtney Richards both had shots from long range that faded just wide.
Later in the first period, Joe Skarz came close to scoring an own goal when Ricky Gabriel’s low cross caused concern in the Halifax box.
Braintree remained on the front foot in the second half. Cameron James’s shot was smothered by Sam Johnson after Callum Morton had put him through.
Halifax were disappointing throughout and struggled to create even half-chances.
