Cardiff City vs Manchester United - Cardiff wait on Bennett injury news

Cardiff defender Joe Bennett is doubtful for the visit of Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first game in charge of the Red Devils.

Full-back Bennett was forced off in the second half of the 3-2 Premier League defeat at Watford last weekend and has not trained this week.

Lee Peltier and Greg Cunningham are on standby to deputise while Jazz Richards will be checked after a recent hamstring problem.

Striker Romelu Lukaku looks set to miss out for visitors United.

The Belgium international has been given time off and has yet to return to the club while Alexis Sanchez is also out for the trip to the Welsh capital.

Chris Smalling pulled up injured in the warm-up at Liverpool last weekend so is a doubt while Luke Shaw will be hoping to return to the fold. Marcos Rojo missed the loss at Anfield, as did Matteo Darmian and Scott McTominay.
