Tottenham Hotspur vs Cardiff City - Vertonghen set for hamstring scan
Posted Friday, October 05, 2018 by PA
Jan Vertonghen faces a scan on Monday to determine the full extent of the hamstring injury which will force him out of the Premier League match against Cardiff.
The Belgium defender could be out for six weeks and none of Spurs’ injured players are available to return at Wembley.
Christian Eriksen (abdomen), Mousa Dembele (thigh), Serge Aurier (thigh) and Dele Alli (hamstring) remain out, but back-up goalkeeper Michel Vorm has recovered from a knee injury.
Junior Hoilett has recovered from illness to take his place in the Cardiff squad.
He missed Sunday’s 2-1 home defeat to Burnley with a virus but has trained fully this week.
Aron Gunnarsson (knee) remains out, but Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock is hopeful the Iceland midfielder might be available for the visit of Fulham after the international break.
