Rotherham United vs Bristol City - Major injury problems for Rotherham
Posted Tuesday, October 02, 2018 by PA
Rotherham have major injury problems at both ends of the pitch ahead of the visit of Bristol City on Wednesday.
Michael Smith played against Stoke last Saturday despite a groin problem but has been unable to train since. With Jamie Proctor and captain Richard Wood also battling groin issues, the Millers could be left with no strikers.
Kyle Vassell could be the one in with a chance of playing but he is struggling with a knee problem and is touch and go.
Manager Paul Warne is also without any recognised centre-halves. Zak Vyner is on loan from Bristol City and ineligible for the game while Sean Raggett and Clark Robertson are both injured.
City are in a healthier position, although boss Lee Johnson did reveal one player who he declined to name is struggling following last Friday’s draw with Aston Villa.
Captain Bailey Wright could make his first appearance of the season while goalkeeper Frank Fielding has also returned to training and is closing in on a return.
Mo Eisa and Hakeeb Adelakun are further behind but making progress while Korey Smith (knee) and Tomas Kalas (jaw) are both longer-term absentees.
After four wins in a row, City have failed to win any of their last three and will be keen to change that at New York Stadium.
