Ferguson has been away from Old Trafford for several months with a brain haemorrhage
The legendary Red Devils manager (below) is understood to be recovering well from the brain haemorrhage he suffered four months ago.
And Fergie’s friends believe he may be able to attend a match at Old Trafford again in October.
United have four home matches next month, starting with a Champions League date with Valencia on October 2.
Four days later, Newcastle are at United while they are at home to Juventus in the Champions League on October 23.
Ferguson has received well wishing from across the world, even rival fans
Then it is Everton – a match which has been moved to Sunday, October 28.
The Juventus game is Cristiano Ronaldo’s latest return to United, where he had such a close relationship with Ferguson, who became one of the great influences on the Portuguese superstar’s career.
Fergie, 76, now a United director, released a video in July thanking medical staff at three hospitals – Macclesfield, Salford Royal and The Alexandra at Cheadle – for saving his life.
He said then he would be back later in the season to watch his beloved United and wished his latest successor as Old Trafford boss – Jose Mourinho – and the players all the best for this campaign.
