Cristiano Ronaldo has just signed for Juventus from Real Madrid

Former England captain Beckham announced the name of the new MLS side he owns, and unveiled the club crest, on Wednesday.

Inter Miami, or Internacional de Futbol Miami as they will also be known, will start competing in 2020 after they were awarded an expansion contact in January.

And Becks has already turned his attention to trying to attract the big names to Florida.

Five-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo is still regarded as one of the best players in the world even at the age of 33.

Along with great rival Lionel Messi, the pair continue to dazzle fans across the world after raising the bar in terms of goalscoring figures in recent times.

In nine seasons with Real Madrid, Ronaldo scored an astonishing 311 league goals in just 292 games and 450 goals in 438 games overall.

Even at the age of 35, he would surely still be at a level much higher than that of the MLS and would light up the league.

According to the Daily Mail, any deal for CR7 would have to break the MLS transfer record, which currently stands at £11.05m after Atlanta United bought Argentine Ezequiel Barco back in January, but the commercial revenue the Portuguese could generate would make any deal worthwhile.

Now with Italian champions Juventus, Ronaldo is currently trying to win the league and Champions League with a third club.

After winning everything with Manchester United since joining from Sporting Lisbon, including the Champions League in 2008, the forward moved to Real Madrid for a then world record fee of £80m.

And it was a similar story at the Bernebeu as Ronaldo became the club’s all-time leading goalscorer and broke numerous other records along the way.

During his time in Madrid, he won La Liga twice, the Copa del Rey twice and the Champions League four times, including three in a row under coach Zinedine Zidane.

The star, who also won the European Championship with Portugal in 2016, then sealed a shock move to Juventus for £99.2m this summer, signing a four-year contract.

Beckham, a treble winner with United, is sure to use the network of contacts he has accumulated over the years at his new club.

Along with Ronaldo, he is said to also be considering a move for former teammate Wayne Rooney, currently plying his trade in the MLS for DC United.

It is believed that Inter Miami will have a large number of Latin American players, with 70 per cent of Miami made up of residents from Central and South America.

The new team will wear a pale pink home kit and the club crest features a pair of herons.

It remains to be seen whether the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo will see the new venture as the perfect end to a great footballing career.
