Lionel Messi takes on dog Hulk as Barcelona star unwinds on preseason break

There was a time, not so very long ago, when Lionel Messi was able to huddle up on the same bed as his new puppy.

Skip forward a few months and suddenly the aptly named "Hulk" (a truly enormous Dogue de Bordeaux) is roughly the same size as your average family station wagon.

Still, it doesn't mean that his owner can't show him a thing or two during a backyard kickabout.

Messi's two children, Mateo and Thiago, can be heard in the video saying "He (Hulk) is very good playing football," before the other replies "Yeah, but dad is better."

Hard to argue with that assessment -- unless Hulk says otherwise, of course!
