Newcastle fan inks Jonjo Shelvey tattoo on his BUM in furious swipe at England axe

A NEWCASTLE fan has inked a tattoo with the name of midfielder Jonjo Shelvey on his bum in a swipe at his omission from the England team.

Ashley Hudson – an avid Toon fan with another tat of Alan Shearer on his arm – posted the snap of what appears to be his rear on Twitter.

Inked on are the words "Shelvey8" along with an England flag.

He said: "Ain't nobody, Jonjo Shelvey, makes me happy, makes me feel this way.

"Enjoy your summer Jonjo. England's loss is our gain."

One fan dubbed Ashley a "ledge" for the brazen body art.

It comes after Shelvey, 26, was left out of the England team travelling to Russia next month for the World Cup.

Responding to suggestions the omission may have been down to boss Gareth Southgate, 47, said: "We’ve watched a lot of games this year, myself and Steve Holland.

"We know all of the English players in the league; their strengths and weaknesses, and the players we’ve picked are ahead of the ones we haven’t.

"In terms of temperament: we assess someone on the way they fit into the way we want to play.

"Some of our finest players: (Steven) Gerrard, and others who were not out like (Patrick) Vieira and (Roy) Keane have more red cards than most so we can’t just pick players who don’t get booked.

"It’s not the primary factor for us.

"It’s how their style of play fits, do they have the attributes to play in our system."
