Liverpool fans have been warned about ticket touts ahead of the Champions League final
LIVERPOOL fans have been warned to avoid ticket touts ahead of their Champions League final clash with Real Madrid.
Supporters on Merseyside were stunned when they received an allocation of just 16,626 inside Kiev's 70,000-seater NSC Olimpiyskiy stadium.
Liverpool fans have been desperately trying to get their hands on the tickets since they went on sale earlier this month.
But touts have taken advantage of the huge demand by charging extortionate amounts for available seats in Ukraine on May 26.
And Liverpool have responded by warning fans against purchasing tickets from unverified sources.
"Liverpool FC would remind supporters that under no circumstances should tickets for the Champions League final be purchased from unofficial sources," a statement read.
"The entire 16,626 allocation that Liverpool received from UEFA for the final has now been sold and the process of distributing tickets is under way.
"The club is aware of instances of tickets being sold at extortionate prices, with a number of cases currently being investigated.
"It remains a matter of deep frustration to Liverpool FC that genuine supporters are denied access to tickets because of unauthorised sales activity.
"Every effort is being made to prevent tickets being sold in this way and the club will take action against those identified as being responsible."
Liverpool supporters have also been asked to limit the amount of banners they unfurl in the Olimpiyskiy stadium.
The travelling Reds made their presence felt with dozens of homemade signs in previous legs against Roma and Manchester City.
But Liverpool chiefs have asked travelling fans to send any potential banners into the club along with any fireproof certificates.
