Moses Makasi in contention for Plymouth debut against Blackburn

Plymouth manager Derek Adams could hand Moses Makasi his debut after the defensive midfielder joined from West Ham on deadline day.

The 22-year-old, who won the Premier League Cup with West Ham in 2016, may find it difficult to earn a starting place after Argyle won 2-1 at Oldham on Saturday and Adams could stick with the same XI.

Striker Alex Fletcher has returned from a loan spell at Torquay while fellow forward Simon Church is waiting for his first start for Plymouth after two substitute appearances.

Defender Jordan Bentley has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a broken leg, while goalkeeper Remi Matthews will keep his place despite Kyle Letheren returning from a thigh injury which has kept him out since October.

Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray will be without skipper Charlie Mulgrew once again as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury.

However, he is hopeful that the Scotland international will be available next weekend after scans revealed the damage he suffered during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Northampton was not as serious as first feared.

Midfielder Corry Evans was an unused substitute in Tuesday night’s 3-1 victory over Walsall on his return from the thigh injury which has sidelined him since the FA Cup defeat by Hull on January 7, while Marcus Antonsson is close to joining him.
