Romelu Lukaku vs Southampton

Old Trafford fell quiet early on against Southampton as Romelu Lukaku suffered a horror head injury.

Prior to his injury, Lukaku narrowly missed the target with a header inside the Saints box.

But the Belgian centre-forward was stretchered off the pitch in the 14th minute in scary scenes.

Hurt in a challenge with Wesley Hoedt

The incident happened during an aerial challenge with Southampton defender Wesley Hoedt.

Lukaku got his head on the ball, while Hoedt's forehead ended up in the back of the United striker's dome.

After taking the blow Lukaku instantly hit the floor.

There were a few worrying moments thereafter as medics tended to Lukaku while the player laid motionless on the grass.
