Pique's message before the Catalan elections: Sleep well and respect the final result

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique once again showed his support for local people to decide their future ahead of Thursday's Catalan regional elections, with a message on social media.

A Catalan nationalist his political views have caused controversy and he has regularly been whistled at when playing for Spain.

"Tomorrow is a very important day for the history of Catalonia, sleep well, rest, the future is in our hands," Pique tweeted.

"We have the power to vote, but I want one thing to be remembered: the final result will be the will of the people of Catalonia.

"Respect it."

Demà és un dia molt important per a la història de Catalunya. Dormiu bé, descanseu. El futur està a les nostres mans. El poder el tenim nosaltres amb els nostres vots. Això sí, vull recordar una cosa: el resultat final serà la voluntat del poble de Catalunya. Respectem-la.
