Leo Messi: My dream is to end my career at Barcelona

Lionel Messi said his dream is to end his career at Barcelona following the announcement by the club that he has signed a new contract until 2021 and with a buy-out clause of 700 million euros.

President Josep Maria Bartomeu had stated that a new deal was done over the summer but the club did not officially announce it with a photo until Saturday morning.

"We had been needing to do the signing for some time and now it is done, and I am happy to be at this club which is my home," Messi said on the Barcelona website.

"I wanted to continue all my life here, I always said that I wanted to stay here for all my career and finish at Barcelona, it was my dream.

"I want to continue winning trophies for the club."
