Dele Alli is reportedly a January target for Real Madrid
Real Madrid have had a disappointing start to the season and are already seven points behind league leaders Barcelona.
Zinedine Zidane is expected to bolster his attacking options in January in an attempt to get the La Liga champions' campaign back on track.
And according to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Real have set their sights on Tottenham's goalscoring midfielder Dele Alli.
The report says president Florentino Perez is preparing a swap deal to tempt Spurs which is likely to see Mateo Kovacic go the other way.
Perez is said to be working on a number of potential ways to get Alli to the Bernabeu as soon as possible.
The Real hierarchy want the England international in January but Tottenham are not interested in selling the 21-year-old.
Don Balon claim they will not listen to any offers until at least next summer, and even then there are no guarantees.
Real, however, are hoping their persistent approach could see a deal agreed this winter.
Alli has recently split with his representatives Impact Sports Management and super-agents Jorge Mendes and Mino Raiola are clambering to sign him.
If the former MK Dons man were to sign on with Mendes his hopes of a move to the Bernabeu would get a significant boost.
Mendes has a strong relationship with the La Liga giants and represent's club talisman Cristiano Ronaldo.
Alli joined Tottenham in a bargain £5million deal from MK Dons in 2015 and i sunder contract until June 2022.
