Philippe Coutinho may not play Champions League football for Liverpool this season
The Reds star was heavily linked with a move to the Nou Camp this summer.
Coutinho, 26, handed in a transfer request in hope of joining the La Liga giants before the window shut last week.
Barca made three bids for the Brazil international but Liverpool refused to sell their star man.
Both clubs have also had a public spat about the price Barca were supposedly quoted by the Reds.
And according to Spanish newspaper Sport, Coutinho is furious with Liverpool.
They say the playmaker may not play for the Reds in the Champions League in hope of securing a move to the Nou Camp.
That would leave Coutinho available to play for Barca in the competition in the second half of the season.
Sport add that Liverpool are aware the midfielder could take this course of action to get his move.
Jurgen Klopp has been vocal on his star man, revealing he will have no problem brining him back into the side.
Coutinho could be back in action for Liverpool this weekend then the Reds travel to Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.
