Sweden international winger Sam Larsson is edging closer to a move to Eredivisie Champions Feyenoord after the club agreed a deal with Heerenveen.
The 24-year-old has been a standout performer in the Dutch top-flight since arriving at De Superfriezen from IFK Gotenborg is 2014. He has netted 23 goals and registered 30 assists in 98 games for Jurgen Streppel’s side.
Ligue 1 side Metz and Benfica were said to be keen on the left-winger but De Stadionclub swooped in with a late bid after Larsson rejected an offer from the French side.
According to Dutch publication De Telegraaf, a €4million deal has been agreed with a five-year contract expected to be signed on Monday.
Larsson will now be expected to compete with Jean-Paul Boetius for a place in Giovanni van Bronckhorst's squad following the off season departure of Eljario Elia.
