The sporting director of La Liga club Celta Vigo has this evening revealed that the club are very much interested in bringing Manchester City attacker Nolito back to Spain.
Outcast
Nolito arrived at the Etihad last summer for £13.8 million following a stellar campaign with Celta.
City were said to have beaten off interest from the likes of La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid upon their signing of the technically-gifted wide-man, though his experience in England since has been far from ideal.
A decent start to his Premier League career under Pep Guardiola quickly came crashing down following a number of disappointing performances and some disciplinary issues, with the Spaniard having become a forgotten man by the season's end.
La Liga return
While City view the 16-time capped international as utterly expendable at this point, former club Celta still regard Nolito as a potentially crucial contributor, with sporting director Felipe Minambres discussing a potential return for their one-time star during an interview with Marca today:
'Nolito is an important player and he would of course be a significant signing should he choose to return.'
'I understand that he wants to have more first-team football and it would be good for him if he returned to play in our team.'
