The England midfielder will take part in his own testimonial at the weekend – awarded by the Red Devils after making 400 appearances.
His side has since uncovered footage of a 13-year-old Carrick revealing his ambitions and footballing prowess on children’s TV show Live & Kicking.
The playmaker is seen in action for his local boy’s team – Wallsend Boys Club – and shows off his neat skills for the camera.
Presenter Andy Peters introduces Carrick as “one of this country’s future footballing stars” – a very accurate prediction.

Manchester Untied stalwart Michael Carrick was destined for greatness at just 13
"I don’t get nervous before games,” the teen says.
"When I get the ball I like trying to give it to other players and lay it off.
"I don’t always want to score goals myself.
"I try to give it to other players to give them a chance as well.”

The midfielder was pictured in a Newcastle shirt in his bedroom
The fresh-faced star is also pictured in his bedroom, proudly wearing a Newcastle shirt in front of posters of Magpie legends.
His cool head and exquisite eye for a pass – which was clearly evident from a young age – has made Carrick one of the most successful English players of a generation.
During his 11-year-career at United, he has won every major trophy including the Champions League in 2008.
