THE football world is eagerly anticipating the biggest match of the season as European giants Juventus and Real Madrid meet in the Champions League final.
The only title left to settle this season, Saturday’s game in Cardiff is expected to gain a worldwide TV audience of more than 180 million as Madrid aim to become the first side ever to retain the Champions League title.
Victory would also see Zinedine Zidane win the trophy as both a manager and a player after his stunning volley at Hampden Park in Glasgow secured the trophy in 2002.
Up against Bayern Leverkusen, the Frenchman’s left-footed wonder goal that screamed into the top corner has gone down as one of the greatest goals ever scored in the final.
Zinedine Zidane scored perhaps the greatest Champions League goal ever
New video shows the majestic volley from every angle as he connects perfectly to send the ball flying past the keeper.
And the more times you watch it the better it gets.
Zidane will be hoping for similar magic from his team, which boasts the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, James Rodriguez and Luka Modric.
Out to spoil their party is Juventus, themselves two-time winners of Europe’s top competition in 1985 and 1996.
The final represents the final chance for legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon to add a Champions League winners medal to his glittering career that has included winning the World Cup.
Juventus are 2/1 to win on Saturday, with Real Madrid 19/11 to make history.
