REVEALED: Chelsea back Conte over star-studded shopping list

Chelsea are ready to back manager Antonio Conte to the hilt this summer as he plans a major signing spree.

The London Evening Standard says Stamford Bridge chiefs have promised to 'significantly' back Conte in the market.

And it's claimed a 'sizeable' wish list has been drawn up including Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez, Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata, Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk and Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Conte remained tight-lipped when asked about Chelsea's transfer plans at a press conference today.

When pushed on the subject, the Italian said: "First of all we need to take three points and then to reach our target.

"When we start the season to come back to play the CL was our first target.

"We want to do this because Chelsea must always play CL, every season.

"Then with the club we will talk for the best solution.

"We need to focus on this season and we want to finish very good."
