Manchester United are willing to meet Neymar‘s financial demands as they aim to make him their marquee summer signing.
The 25-year-old, according to The Times, has reportedly told friends both United and Chelsea have enquired to whether he'll push for a move to England after this season.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, according to Neymar, has been persistent with the Red Devils ready to pay the £170m release clause in his current Barcelona contract.
Neymar's current deal, which he signed last July, expires in 2021 but there are already hints he might not honour the agreement.
According to sources, the Brazilian international wants an annual after-tax salary in the region of £21m, a total which would exceed Cristiano Ronaldo's salary at Real Madrid.
His standing at the club is also another issue with Lionel Messi and Luis Saurez - despite both being close to 30 - are considered more important to their success.
Neymar will undoubtedly be an asset for the Red Devils if this improbable transfer does ever happen.
Already this season he's averaging more chances created per 90 minutes (3.04) than any United forward as well as when it comes to successful take ons (5.46).
