Liverpool star Sadio Mane will miss the rest of the season.
The Liverpool star twisted his left knee after falling awkwardly during the recent Merseyside derby.
The 24-year-old, who moved to Anfield from Southampton for £34m last summer, is now set to have an operation on the injury.
Kop boss Klopp said: "Sadio we are pretty sure will need surgery. Not 100% sure when it will happen.
"It's clear his season is over. That's what I expected.
"It will be pretty much impossible for him to play again this season. He'll have a long break until next season.
"I thought he was lucky not more happened.
"He will be ready for the next season. That's the only good news."
Mane had been superb for Liverpool before his cruel injury blow, scoring 13 goals and providing five assists in the Premier League.
Klopp will now have to do without his Senegalese star for their all-important run-in this term.
The Reds, who take on Stoke tomorrow, have not won a match in any competition without Mane in 2017.
