Arsene Wenger was full of praise for Arsenal's supporters in the wake of Sunday's 2-2 draw with Manchester City.
More Gunners fans protested against the French manager outside the Emirates Stadium before they fought amongst themselves inside the ground.
But Wenger reacted positively to the incidents and overall result of the game by saying that the supporters had a great part to play in allowing the team to force a positive draw.
"I must say, despite all what happens on the fans front, I felt out fans were fantastic today," he said.
"In very difficult moments in the game I felt that our fans - at 1-0 down, at 2-1 down - could have turned against us. I think they were absolutely sensational and helped the team to get through those difficult moments.
"I'm not aware of what happened outside. I think what is important in football is what happens inside the pitch and inside the stadium. I feel the fans were absolutely outstanding today."
He added on Arsenal Player: "I would like to thank the fans today.
"In the moments we suffered, they were absolutely amazing in a positive way.
"Today, that was a very important moment in the game. If they had turned against us when we were 1-0 down, alongside dealing with the nerves, it would have made things worse.
"They really helped the team recover and we are grateful for that."
