Tuchel: Aubameyang needs to play

BVB Dortmund head coach Thomas Tuchel says Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang does not need to rest after calls for the star striker to be dropped for the Wolfsburg clash.
After a disappointing 2017 Africa Cup of Nations campaign with host nation Gabon, where the 27-year-old and his side failed to reach the knock-out stage of the competition. Aubameyang reportedly returned to Germany in a bad space, low on morale.
Tuchel believes it's been showing in his recent performances as he's struggled to find his goal scoring touch, missing a number of guilt edged chances in recent weeks.
However, it was the performance in the UEFA Champions League against Benfica that's brought calls for the former AC Milan forward to be 'rested' after he spurns numerous goal scoring opportunities in the 1-0 loss – including a penalty 58th minute penalty.
"We spent a lot of time thinking about whether to give him a break against Darmstadt [last week]," Tuchel told reporters.
"He didn't come back very well from the Africa Cup of Nations. It would be wrong to give him a break. He is 100 percent fit.
"It's very important that Auba plays again [on Saturday] and plays for as long as he can — and even better if he scores."
Aubameyang will be hoping to get back onto the scoresheet against Die Wolfe, after netting once in his last five games.
