Bristol City vs Sheffield Wed. - Gary O'Neil set for Bristol City return

Gary O'Neil is set to boost Bristol City ahead of their Sky Bet Championship game with Sheffield Wednesday.

O'Neil missed the FA Cup defeat to Burnley on Saturday with a sickness bug, but the veteran midfielder is expected to recover in time for the Ashton Gate clash.

Top scorer Tammy Abraham will also return after being rested at Turf Moor and City will check on Lee Tomlin after illness.

But Joe Bryan (ankle), Mark Little (groin) and Adam Matthews (calf and hamstring) are all likely to miss out, leaving Robins boss Lee Johnson with a defensive dilemma.

Sheffield Wednesday will be without suspended pair Steven Fletcher and Sam Hutchinson, who were both sent off in last week's defeat at Brighton.

Striker Fletcher starts a three-game ban for a straight red card and Hutchinson sits out a one-game ban after receiving two yellow cards.

Gary Hooper is doubtful due to a knock sustained in a recent development game. The striker was an unused substitute at Brighton having previously been sidelined since November with a hamstring injury.

Midfielder Marco Matias has suffered a setback in his return from long-term injury, but defender Jack Hunt is expected to overcome a knee problem.
